we need to get rid of the idea of teacher, instructor, educator. Everyone should just be learning. The person with something to share should be learning about the people they are sharing with and then learning what the recipients of the sharing did with it to make it new. All learning should have a 5th assessment level: INVENTION.

Thanks Tahiya,

So, perhaps what we should be doing in schools is teaching everyone to become a teacher?

Very useful entry. My 8 year old is interested in programming, can you suggest any books, software, kits etc?

Hi Ferdoos, there’s a great book on Python programming available at: http://inventwithpython.com/ - it’s free to read online.

Or get a Raspberry Pi board: http://www.raspberrypi.org/ - it’s basically a Linux PC on a credit card sized board. It’s designed to help people learn how to program. Lots of tutorials available on the web.

Cheers,

Mark
