Social Networks - the future of CPD
Social Networks, Teacher CPD, Presentations & Workshops 1830 viewsI'm leading one of the sessions at tomorrow's elearning & esafety conference for Norfolk headteachers.
It's entitled "Social Networks - the future of CPD". Although rather than focus of social networks per se, I'm looking wider... at informal learning, at communities of practice, at using technology to help widen the CoPs, and at the skills required from teachers in order to effectively engage with their own CPD.
I've prepared a draft version of the presentation, with a quick narration to go with it. You'll need speakers or headphones to hear the narration.

Mark,
Thanks for your presentation. I found it very interesting, inspiring in fact, and I hope to establish some kind of network myself. I have a my space page but that’s just irritating. This looks and feels more like the business.

Hi Mark.
I saw this when you first posted it and have returned to it several times. In the SW the NS consultants are just starting wikis/blogs to get some collaborative use of technology to support our own cpd so I’m pointing them in the direction of your blog to gain from your experience.

Simon, I’ve found that the best way to develop your CPD network is to start by reading one or two blogs from people in your field - and then to setup a personal space (a blog) so you can feed into the network as well. http://Edublogs.org is a good place to start.
Godfrey, thanks for the compliment. If there’s anything I can do to support the NS Consultants let me know.
