Manager-tools.com is probably the best resource I've found for understanding how to work better with people. Their weekly podcasts provide clear guidelines for specific situations, but within a well thought out management framework that has coaching and feedback at its centre. I don't listen to all of them; just the ones that grab my interest or are particularly relevant at the time.
The style is conversational. The content is easy to apply. It suits me (as a regular Radio 4 - ie. talk radio - listener). It won't suit everyone.
The thing that intrigues me is their business model. They give away their key ideas as they apply in generic contexts, but seem to have made a successful business out of working with organisations to apply those ideas in specific situations. As a marketing strategy it's inspired and very brave. The vibrant community of practice that is developing around the Manager-Tools website illustrates the success of those key ideas, without needing case studies full of marketing-speak.
Grow the community = grow the business
