    I think your diagnosis is spot on. L&D as a "profession" has to lift it's game and think strategically.

    I agree with the need for rebranding it's simply not enough to be a provider of training.

    I really hope there is a breakthrough soon - I'm part of this profession because I'm passionate about enabling others to learn

    I must say I find this report absolutely horrendous; that doesn't mean I'm shooting the messenger, but it does mean that L&D is facing a huge challenge!

    If 50% of L&D functions are in the "business-as-usual mindset, I'm with the 50% that aren't! This really is a time to focus on performance and working smarter.

    I just wonder how far this outcome is a result of management's short-sightedness when the recession hit in 2008.
