    Categorisation from various perspectives like this is a useful sense-making exercise. Perhaps consider varying the dimension according to the context in which it will be used. For example, see Reeves' pedagogical dimensions at http://bit.ly/a7U3yg. Though intended to categorise designs, they might prompt ideas for organising systems.

    Thanks for that Clive. There's also Sandy Britain's report http://www.elearning.ac.uk/resources/VLEFullReport08.doc, which gives a framework for the pedagogical evaluation of learning environments.

    I totally agree, it's a far more complex exercise than the one I've shown here...
