    Seriously, this does draw attention to the mistaken belief that Web 2.0 is fundamentally 'free' and 'open'!

    It can be used as a form of monitoring and control - and is!

    In many ways, the freedom of a phonecall is often missed... Skype calls even more so (with the added value of body language!).

    I far prefer calls to forum threads or emails...

    Web 2.0 out in the wild is pretty much free & open. But the same technologies can be used inside closed organisations in a much more controlled way.
